# Multiverses

Share contacts between Universes

A Multiverse is a group of [Universes](/fundamentals/universes.md) that share their contacts. Each Universe in a Multiverse can find the contacts of the other Universes in the group.

All Universes in a Multiverse must belong to the same [Federation](/fundamentals/federations.md).

## Create a Multiverse

1. Open the Federation Hub.
2. Open **Multiverses**.
3. Create a new Multiverse and give it a name.
4. Select the Universes to put in it.
5. Save the Multiverse.

To add or remove a Universe at a later time, edit the Multiverse.

## Find shared contacts

In a contact search, add the **Shared Contact** filter. The search then shows the contacts of the other Universes in your Multiverse, not your own.

You can open a shared contact and read its details. You cannot edit a contact that belongs to a different Universe.

## Add a shared contact to your Universe

To work with a shared contact, add it to your Universe:

1. Open the shared contact.
2. Select **Add to Universe**.
3. Confirm.

Hubble makes a linked copy in your Universe. The copy gets its name and personal details from the original contact. Your Universe keeps its own lists, notes and history for the copy.

You can also save a Shared Contact search as a list. Hubble then adds each contact on the list to your Universe in the same way. Hubble never makes two copies of the same person.
